Spring is really almost here :)
Hello All, today I saw a Robin, in a bare tree, chirping away, and over the weekend, I saw the Geese returning
back to the Rock River, in droves of the "flying V" formation, I love to go there and watch them....I have been
busy STILL working in the shop, but its coming together, and most of the work, we have done ourselves, which is good for the
pocketbook, and gives us a sense of pride. Everyone is getting ready for spring, including us, See you on April 3rd :)

Postponement to our opening :(
Hi all! Wow, When you try to renovate a building that is over 100 years old,
some surprises happen, lol So this is just to say, no, we won't be open on March 5th, but will keep you all posted with pictures
on Facebook, and here on our site's homepage. I want it done right, since its an old wood-frame building. Thanks for understanding,
Alicia

Hello Readers :)
Renovations are coming along, thanks to Mike, our electrician, and his ability to find all the right wires,
in a building over 100 years old, and no directions, or blueprints, he is a skilled and innovative person. I have been ordering
shelving, and picking out new products, Good thing I love to re-arrange things, lol See you all soon ;)

Looking For Sunshine :)
Today I put 30 more comics online, Tomorrow I am changing the scenes, and going to put on some doll and
other categories, Its really a lot of work doing photographic inventory, but what some of my consignees don't understand,
is that I do it for their benefit as well as mine, if there were a fire, I would still have the website as my total inventory
manager, and be able to re-pay them for the loss. Insurance companies like it, "a picture is worth a thousand words"
take care all, see you soon, Alicia

Been Busy....
Hi All, I have been busy shipping, and packing, painting, making videos for U Tube, and facebook, and
getting the new consignees signed up, I really hate it when things are so messy with dust in the shop, but I guess with
progress, there are messes. Thank God for the large contractor bags, they came in handy covering things to protect them from
the dust !

Hello :)
Today, it was so cold, that the back door of the store, that is an insulated metal door, was Frozen Shut,
ahhhh..... So, its a good thing we are closed to the public, since that is the fire exit door... We have been getting
in new inventory, for our grand re-opening, today we got in DC comics of bronze age Superman, Batman, vintage Comico
Comics, also, brand NEW DVD's, Educational books, and DVD books, in case you just want to kick back with the headphones, lol We also got in a bunch of really great antique books, some as old as 1809, old school primers and yearbooks, in awesome
shape, makes you wonder who would just give up such a personal item. I also have carnival glass coming, lets home that the
fed-ex man is careful when he brings it,lol Chat later, be a fan on Facebook, and get more info there too.

Update...
Hello all, well today, we took the trees down out of the front store window, packed all the ornaments and
things up, put up plastic in the window, with the "closed for remodeling" sign. I got on a ladder and lifted
a few of the false ceiling tiles, and found out there are things that need to be addressed by the electrician when he comes
in mid-January. In the back-room, realized that there are 4 vents to cover, as well as 2 windows and an old door, from when
it was a bakery, way back in the day, living in a building that was built in the late part of the 1800's, and the only wood
frame building left on Main Street, has its oddities, like for instance, we found old newspapers that were in the walls, I
assume for insulation, lol we have our work cut out for us updating this old girl, but she will look great when she is done

Well This Is IT.....
The year is over for me, with the holiday shopping gone, Christmas Eve is time to be with your family
and reflect about the past year, and hope that you have learned something in the process. I can honestly say that I
have learned more this year about people, business, and friends than any other year. Mabie its because I had time to listen.
Mabie its because I turned 40, and somehow its a magical age that I never thought I would be, lol but anyways, I appreciate
every day that I am given, and am looking forward to renovating the store, getting in our new consignees, that have been on
a list to get in the door, now there is room. Have a great team of helpers, carpenters and electricians to get things up to
snuff, I will be busy taking photographic inventory of every item in the shop, so keep checking back to see what new categories
we are getting, have a great holiday with your families, Love Alicia @ Flashbacks For You.

Looks like winter to me....
Wow, everyone is totally shocked that its snowing... you know it IS December, and snow is good for lots of
things besides sledding and shoveling. Its good for the crops next year, prevents drought, fills the rivers and streams, just
think of snow as God's way to wash the earth of all the bad pollutants we put on our grounds, from fertilizer, to dripping
oil out of cars, trash and litter in the streets, mabie all those used cigarette filters I see after the bar next door has
a band, will get clean, and some bird next year can put it in their nest for the baby chicks to sleep on? Being optimistic,
it makes me feel better after it rains, I get a free car wash, and everything smells better. Mabie the snow will remind people
to get into the spirit of Christmas, not the presents, but the presence, of God in your life, weather you want him there or
not, after all, this is the season of miracles, I hope you all get your miracles this year, all you have to do is ask. God
Bless and Happy Holidays, from Alicia and Family @ Flashbacks For You.
